Reach One Teach One (R1T1)
Reach One Teach One (R1T1) is a Christ-centered ministry in Honduras focused on breaking cycles of poverty through education, vocational training, discipleship, and sustainable opportunity.
Rather than focusing solely on short-term assistance, R1T1 equips individuals with practical skills they can use to provide for their families, create opportunities, and strengthen their communities. At the heart of the ministry is a simple idea: teach one person, and that person can teach another.
Through vocational training in areas such as carpentry, welding, barbering, and technology, students gain hands-on skills while being encouraged to grow as leaders and mentors. R1T1 also supports community development through housing, education, food sustainability, and other initiatives designed to create long-term opportunities.
The goal extends beyond teaching a trade. R1T1 seeks to develop individuals who can become providers, teachers, leaders, and positive influences within their families and communities.
When one life is changed, a family is strengthened. When families are strengthened, communities can be transformed.
Your support of R1T1 helps create opportunities that can make a difference for generations to come.
Reach One Teach One was founded on a simple but powerful principle: reach one person, teach them, and give them the opportunity to teach another. What began as a vision has grown into a ministry focused on equipping individuals both spiritually and vocationally so they can build stronger futures for themselves, their families, and their communities.
Our Mission
Our mission is to develop leaders who are grounded in faith, equipped with practical skills, and committed to serving others. By combining Christian discipleship with hands-on vocational training, R1T1 seeks to create lasting change that extends beyond one individual to families and future generations.
Our Vision
Our vision is to see strong, self-sustaining communities throughout Honduras where families have access to education, employment, housing, opportunity, and spiritual growth.
Rather than creating dependence on continued assistance, R1T1 works to equip people with the skills, confidence, and opportunities needed to provide for their families, teach others, and become leaders within their own communities.
Our Leadership
R1T1 is led by Dalton and Jen Hines, alongside a dedicated team of Honduran leaders, teachers, and partners who share a commitment to serving others and creating opportunities for lasting change.
Together, they are building a ministry designed to reach beyond any one person or generation—empowering people today who can equip and encourage others tomorrow.
The Heart behind R1T1
At Reach One Teach One (R1T1), everything we do is focused on creating sustainable opportunities that equip individuals, strengthen families, and build stronger communities.
Vocational Training
Our trade school provides hands-on training in practical skills such as welding, carpentry, barbering, electrical work, and technology. These programs are designed to provide more than an education—they create pathways to employment, entrepreneurship, and the ability to provide for a family.
Housing & Construction
R1T1 supports affordable housing and construction initiatives that help provide safe, durable homes for families while creating opportunities for vocational training, employment, and hands-on experience in the construction trades.
Sustainable Food & Agriculture
Through initiatives such as tilapia farming, plant nurseries, and developing agricultural projects, we are exploring sustainable ways to improve food security while creating additional opportunities for income and vocational training.
Mission Teams
Through our partnership with TORCH Missions, teams serve alongside local communities through home construction, community projects, outreach, and other areas of need. These partnerships provide valuable resources while building meaningful relationships between volunteers and the people they serve.
Discipleship & Leadership
At the heart of everything we do is discipleship. Through biblical teaching, mentorship, and personal relationships, we invest in the spiritual development of students and encourage them to become leaders who will serve their families, churches, and communities.
Our goal is not simply to meet today's needs. It is to equip people with the faith, skills, and opportunities to build a better future—and then empower them to do the same for others.
What We Do
The true impact of R1T1 is found in the lives of the people we serve.
It can be seen in a student who learns a trade and discovers a path toward supporting a family. It is found in a young person who grows in confidence, faith, and leadership and then begins investing in others. It is seen in families who receive a safe place to call home and in communities strengthened by people using their skills to help one another.
For R1T1, transformation is about more than building homes, teaching trades, or creating jobs. It is about building confidence, developing leaders, strengthening faith, and creating opportunities that can change the direction of a family for generations.
As R1T1 continues to grow, so does the opportunity for one changed life to influence another. That is the heart of Reach One Teach One:
One person equipped. One family strengthened. One community changed. One generation reaching the next.

Meet the Rains Family
Wesley and Alaynna Rains are passionate about serving the Lord and sharing His love with the people of Honduras through the ministry of Reach 1 Teach 1 (R1T1).
Originally introduced to the ministry through R1T1 board member Greg Mock, the Rains family quickly developed a heart for the mission and the community it serves. Wesley, a licensed barber from Searcy, Arkansas, was invited in 2025 to serve as a consultant for R1T1’s barbering program. What began as a professional opportunity soon became a calling to invest more deeply in the lives of young men and families in Honduras.
The Rains family is excited to use the gifts and talents God has given them to help educate, encourage, and disciple others while supporting the ongoing mission of R1T1. They look forward to seeing how God will continue to work through their family for the growth of His Kingdom.
