IRC Special Projects

From time to time, IRC performs special projects that may fall outside the scope of our main areas of concentration. Some of those projects include tattoo removal services for former gang members, anti-bullying training for school children, water filtration giveaways, clothing store and shoe store services, along with a variety of other programs. While we try to focus on our primary tasks, sometimes the opportunity arises to do something new but needed. Take a look below at some of the projects we have been a part of in the past few years.

Tattoo Removal

IRC was blessed to receive laser tattoo removal equipment due to the generosity of a supporter. We have used that equipment to remove various tattoos and gang symbols from hundreds of young men and even women. Removing tattoos allows them to re-enter society, including finding work and obtaining public services where available.

Anti-Bullying Education and Training

IRC provided support to Harlyn Ardino and his RAM Anti-Bullying Campaign aimed at reducing bullying incidents in Honduran schools. These training courses were aimed at helping kids recognize bullying when it happens, as well as how to stand up to it and respond accordingly. Honduran schoolchildren are often targeted by gangs who recruit the children and turn them against their fellow classmates. Harlyn Ardino’s program is an effective weapon against those efforts and we are proud to work with him.
