Primary Care
At the heart of the InterAmerican Restoration Corporation is a desire to care for people who are hurting and to bring hope to those in need. Few ministries embody that mission more clearly than Clinica de Esperanza (Clinic of Hope), our family medical center in Santa Ana, Honduras.
Since opening its doors in 2007, Clinica de Esperanza has provided compassionate, accessible medical care to individuals and families who might otherwise have limited access to healthcare. Each year, the ministry serves approximately 6,000 patients through both the permanent clinic in Santa Ana and mobile medical clinics that travel into rural and underserved communities.
But the Clinic of Hope is about more than treating illness. It is about caring for the whole person—meeting people in moments of vulnerability with dignity, and compassion.
Whether a patient walks through the doors of the clinic or our medical team travels into a remote community to reach them, the goal remains the same: to bring healing, hope, and compassionate care to the people of Honduras.
Clinica de Esperanza
Clinica de Esperanza (Clinic of Hope) is a nonprofit charitable clinic committed to providing free, compassionate healthcare to individuals and families in Honduras, regardless of their ability to pay.
But we believe true health extends far beyond the walls of a medical clinic.
In addition to providing primary medical care, dental services, and preventive healthcare, we work alongside IRC's other ministries (Torch Missions, R1T1, and Honduras Project), individuals and communities to address many of the underlying challenges that affect their health and quality of life. Our efforts with our partners include supporting educational opportunities, access to clean water, food security, and safe housing.
By helping meet these essential needs, we seek to strengthen families, give children greater opportunities to thrive, and create healthier communities for generations to come. Every patient represents more than a medical need. They are a person, a family, and a part of a community we have been called to serve. Through compassionate healthcare and practical support, Clinica de Esperanza strives to offer more than treatment—we offer hope.

IRC Emergency Medical Care
For two decades, the InterAmerican Restoration Corporation (IRC) has responded to people in crisis—providing medical care, medical supplies, and compassionate assistance in Honduras and around the world. When communities face hurricanes, earthquakes, disease outbreaks, or other emergencies, IRC has consistently been willing to go where the need is greatest.
At the heart of IRC’s medical response efforts is Gayle Davidson, IRC’s Medical Missions Director and the leader of Clinica de Esperanza (Clinic of Hope). Her experience has taken IRC’s mission of compassionate care far beyond the walls of the clinic in Santa Ana.
Over the years, under the leadership of Executive Director Tim Hines, IRC’s medical efforts have included delivering water and medical supplies to hurricane victims; treating patients during a leptospirosis outbreak and severe flooding in Guyana; assisting with Ebola response efforts in Sierra Leone and Liberia; providing medical support following the devastating earthquake in Haiti; serving in an Atlanta ICU during the COVID-19 pandemic; and distributing critical COVID supplies throughout Honduras.
Whether the crisis is a natural disaster, a public health emergency, or the deeply personal struggle of an individual trying to begin again, IRC strives to respond with both compassion and action.
The circumstances may change, and the location may be different, but the mission remains the same: to step into difficult places, care for people who are hurting, and bring hope when it is needed most.
Mobile Medical and Dental Missions
For many families living in poverty throughout Honduras, receiving even basic healthcare can be incredibly difficult. Some live in remote villages where medical and dental services are limited or virtually nonexistent. Distance, transportation costs, and financial hardship can make traveling to a clinic simply impossible.
Through our mobile medical and dental clinics, our teams travel into rural and underserved communities to provide essential care to individuals and families who might otherwise go without treatment. These clinics allow us to meet people where they are—often in communities where access to a doctor, dentist, medication, or preventive care is extremely limited.
Our teams provide medical evaluations, dental care, medications, health education, and other services based on the needs of each community. Just as importantly, we have the opportunity to listen, encourage, and treat every person who comes to us with dignity and compassion.
For us, access to healthcare should not depend on where someone lives or how much money they have.
If people cannot reach the care they need, we believe part of our mission is to bring that care to them.
Equipping Hospitals. Expanding Care.
Providing quality healthcare requires more than dedicated medical professionals—it also requires the right equipment and supplies. IRC and Clinica de Esperanza work to help bridge that gap by collecting new and gently used medical equipment and supplies from hospitals, healthcare providers, and donors throughout the United States.
Equipment that may have been replaced or is no longer needed in a U.S. medical facility can still have tremendous value in Honduras. Hospital beds, diagnostic equipment, monitors, medical machines, specialized instruments, and other essential items are carefully gathered and prepared for shipment.
IRC coordinates the transportation of this equipment, along with large quantities of donated medical supplies, to Honduras by shipping container. Once there, these resources can be placed where they will have the greatest impact—supporting hospitals, clinics, medical professionals, and communities with limited resources.
What may be considered surplus in one place can be life-changing equipment in another.
By connecting available medical resources in the United States with healthcare needs in Honduras, IRC and Clinica de Esperanza help strengthen local healthcare, equip medical professionals, and expand the quality of care available to patients throughout the country.
It is another way we pursue a simple but important goal: putting valuable resources into the hands of people who can use them to save lives and bring hope.
