A sea of blue tarps and trees laying on the ground can still be seen around the town of Lake Charles, Louisiana. In the aftermath of hurricane Laura, there are still many needs to be met.
IRC continues its disaster relief efforts, making several trips to cut trees and to deliver a dump trailer and pallets of canned peas, green beans, corn, and water that will be passed out to impoverished neighborhoods. Time was spent with local residents praying with them and passing out gift cards to people in need. Generators and high-volume drying fans have been loaned out to help those without electricity.
As soon as Delta passes, IRC will be heading back to Lake Charles to do more work.
